Pesto

This is another vampire repellent. I fully admit I like a lot of garlic so that it kinda burns, if you are not a super garlic fan start with half the garlic and taste it before you move on with more. I personally like pesto on just about anything so being able to make it without the dairy and have it a bit healthier is a great thing.

Ingredients

  • 2 Cups basil loosely packed

  • 4 Large cloves of garlic

  • 4 Tbsp olive oil

  • 4 Tbsp sunflower seeds

  • 1/4 tsp salt

  • 4 Tbsp water

Steps

  1. If you have a food processor then you can use that and then you can leave the water out for a thicker pesto. Other wise use a blender.

  2. Toss all of the ingredients in the blender.

  3. Pulse the ingredients

  4. You will need to stop the blender a few times to press the mixture back down.

  5. If you want a smooth pesto then blend until smooth, otherwise you can judge when it is still a little chunky and use it that way.

This has about 42 calories in each Tablespoon.
