If things are rough right now, remember it does not last forever.

Many people have had times in life where everything starts falling apart. You can bet that during those times, all the mindset tools in the world just can't seem to help them climb out of that hole. This can happen with many different things in life. Sometimes it can be a lot of health issues going wrong, and it can be very difficult to see anything as positive when you are sick or in pain. But, there is good news! When all seems dark and hopeless, there are a few things you need to look at:

#1 Go With the Flow

I know everyone hates to hear this, myself included when I am in this state, but there is a lesson in what you are dealing with. Often times it is not apparent when you are in the midst of going through it. In fact, you might not realize fully for a year or two afterward that the trouble you were going through lead to a good opportunity. Or, better yet, that the hardship was actually preparing you and making you stronger for the opportunity that was coming your way.

I know that when you are in the middle of things it is difficult to look at the hardships this way, but start looking at what you could be learning in this situation and just understand that this is not permanent. You will be through this challenge soon. Go with the flow of what is available for you. Don’t fight against the current that will just make you tired. Does this mean to do nothing at all? No! It means that you will still have options available to you, but go with that instead of pushing for something that is such a struggle that is making you more stressed. Maybe starting a hardcore intense fitness program is not in the cards yet, but walking and some light yoga is fine, so go with that. That’s what presented itself at this time. In other words, going with the flow and taking the opportunities of what is available to you in the here and now.

#2 Reduce Your Stress

Stress will make anything you are going through even worse. Again, this can be difficult for some people because when you are going through hard times you naturally get more stressed. However, there are ways to help you keep your stress level under control. Here are a few:

  • Meditate
  • Do some walks out in nature (this is like a walking meditation, which is good for those of us who do not like sitting still)
  • Use hypnotherapy
  • Read a book that calms you
  • Listen to some soothing music
  • Listen to your favorite comedians (if you do not have one then start listening to comedy and find one)

#3 Keep Moving Forward

Find that one small spark of hope. Hope will keep you going through the difficult times. Just find something. Maybe you are having health problems and the doctors have not been able to find out what is wrong. Well then, start researching your symptoms and see what you can dig up. Your doctors know a lot and they have your best interest at heart, but it does not mean they have as much time to study what is going on with you as you would have. Take the lead on your health. If you know that you need to get your diet and exercise going more, then start doing what you can towards that and know that what you are doing is making a difference. Even a short walk and adding in a few more vegetables can start moving you in the right direction. You are not out of options yet - far from it in fact! There is an answer: your job is to follow the bread crumb trail to the next clue to the puzzle. Keep moving and know that you will come out of this stronger.
