Iced Mocha

When the heat of 10,000 suns is blaring down on you in the summer you want a coffee but certainly not a hot one, this is a great option. I love espresso, but I do not have an espresso machine so I created this as a substitute when I want one at home. Granted if you have an espresso machine then use the real thing in this recipe, but for the rest of us this can be a tasty choice. For those of you (like me) who like the taste of coffee but don't want the caffeine, use a decaf instant espresso. I love making these at home because I can choose what kind of sweetener I want and the type of milk I want, therefore it can be lactose free and sugar free if need be.

  • 1 Cup milk of your choice

  • 2 Tbsp instant espresso

  • 1 tsp stevia

  • 8-10 Ice cubes

  • 1 Tbsp dutch coco

For a blended drink Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth

For a traditional iced coffee heat up the milk and add the espresso, stevia and cocoa, mix well. Let cool for a few minutes and pour the liquid over the ice.

The amount of calories in this will vary quiet widely depending on what kind of milk you use. The espresso and coco have very little in the way of calories, so really you can just look at how many calories are in the milk you choose to know what you are taking in.
